Services and Outputs

Peter Madden offers tailor-made services, designed to meet clients’ needs. All the services can be delivered online or in person when circumstances allow. Interactions tend to be built around the following offerings:

Presentations on future context

Focused presentations to Boards and leadership teams as part of the strategy planning process.

Some organisations like to touch-in periodically on the bigger picture; some like to build capacity for longer-term thinking in their top-team; others will be gathering thoughts and inputs for the next strategy round.

Peter will take time to understand the context and constraints and will shape content to fit the organisation’s needs.

“Peter gave an excellent presentation to our Board about how digital trends would transform our operating environment, and some wise suggestions about how we might respond strategically.”
— Dipesh J Shah, OBE

Interactive sessions on horizon-scanning and drivers of change

These can be part of existing planning and risk management processes. Organisations are increasingly scanning further ahead to understand the world they will be operating in. They also want to build capacity in their leadership team to scan the horizon and think in longer time-frames. These are usually half-day or full-day sessions, sometimes as part of an away-day or planning event.

Future-proofing strategy documents

Working with teams to understand the head-winds and tail-winds, identify foreseeable risks and opportunities, and spot some hidden dangers. This can be done largely based on documentation, drawing on existing expertise and providing commentary and feedback, or it can involve interviews with staff and stakeholders to more fully understand the context and opportunities. Peter is happy to participate in team discussions as required.

“Every business needs a Peter. As a consummate strategist he’s always future focussed and thought-provoking. His constructive challenge and deep knowledge of our fast changing world helps unlock the best conversations at Board and senior executive levels.”
— Dame Alison Nimmo, DBE

Pathways to the future

Peter can help your leadership team envision a preferred future for the whole organisation or define some potential opportunity areas for growth. He can then help you to back-cast from that future or to draw-up a road map to success. Often organisations will want pathways to a zero-carbon future. He will also help the team embed futures-thinking and foresight an integral part of their strategy process.

“Peter combines big-picture vision of the future with the ability to determine practical and profitable ways forward for our industry.”
— Julie Hirigoyen CEO UK Green Business Council
